Clinical Psychologist

I have been qualified as a Clinical Psychologist for over 10 years primarily working in adult mental health services in the NHS. I completed my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Southampton, my undergraduate psychology degree at the University of Lancaster and an MSc in Cognitive Psychology at the University of Kent.

Together in Talking Therapy the emphasis is on developing insight into a person’s difficulties and importantly, supporting change. I feel immensely privileged to work with people during challenging times in their lives to support them in their therapy journey to thrive.

Outside of work, I have a family and enjoy living by the sea. I enjoy all things about the sea, such as swimming in the local English Channel or enjoying the warmer seas of holiday destinations. I enjoy trying to balance on my stand-up paddle board, emphasis on “trying”. I sometimes think my experience of stand-up paddle boarding is a bit like the journey that someone takes when they have a course of therapy. It’s hard work, you fall off a lot, but eventually things become easier and you can reap the rewards of balance and finally enjoy the beautiful sea views.

Only by learning to live in harmony with your contradictions can you keep it all afloat“, Audre Lorde.
